Name : Hamzah bin Awang Amat
Born in 1940, at Kampung Gerong, Kebakat, Tumpat, Kelantan.

Award : The First National Arts Award in December 1993 by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Became an expert puppeteer by the time he was 11, has demonstratedhis skill at various important functions locally and overseas. He performed the "Kumpulan Seni Setia", a shadow-play group to perform the art all over the country when he was a young man in the 1950s and 1960s.

Performances :
1971 - Displayed his skill in 31 major European and African cities in 10 countries, sponsored by Unesco and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
1973 & 1974 - Performed puppet-play in Russia, United States, Canada and England.
